Don Morrison Memorial Edale Skyline Fell Race

held on 26th March 2000 - 21 Miles : 4500 ft climb.

Glossopdale’s Andy Trigg claimed another excellent victory from a very competitive field in this tough local classic in a fast time of 2hrs 36.20 – this being just outside Gavin Bland’s 1999 record of 2hrs 34.39. On a cold day with occasional snow flurries over Kinder, he made light of the heavy going around Brown Knoll to leave a strong Borrowdale quartet in his wake.

To make it even more of a successful day for the club, Sally Newman was first lady (and a remarkable 25th overall) setting a new record time of 3hrs 09.50 - beating Carol Greenwood’s 1997 record of 3hrs 17.53 by eight minutes !

The team prize was won by Borrowdale, Dark Peak were second. Dark Peak won the team vets prize and Maccesfield were second.

There were 197 entries, 162 started and 154 finished.
